ECBiG secures funding from the Minister of Science

The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences has received a subsidy from the Minister of Science for the years 2024-2026 to finance the maintenance of scientific research equipment/research positions under the name ECBiG – European Center for Bioinformatics and Genomics, which is listed on the Polish Map of Research Infrastructure.

The primary goal of establishing ECBiG was to build a unique technological platform at the national level and recognizable in Europe, dedicated to large-scale and multi-level research on biological systems.

The mission of ECBiG is to develop, implement, and commercialize new bioinformatics and multi-omics technologies, which serve both scientific research and the development of medical diagnostics and therapies.

Since its inception, ECBiG has supported research by national and international research groups in all three areas of its expertise: structural genomics, functional genomics, and bioinformatics.
