Research activity

Research area
  • Chemical synthesis of biopolymers with particular emphasis on nucleic acids, peptides, carbohydrates, lipids and their modifications.
  • Research on new, functional polymeric materials with application potential, e.g. as drug carriers or supports in chemical solid-phase synthesis.
  • Application of the original thermocyclization reaction in a broad aspect of chemical synthesis.
  • Thermosensitive technology as a tool in the design of protection groups, a new class of fluorescent tracers, catalysts with thermodependent activity, thermo-release polymers and molecular thermometers.
  • Qualitative and quantitative instrumental analysis using PVA capillary electrophoresis, high-performance HPLC column chromatography with UV-Vis, fluorescence and Corona detectors, and MALDI-TOF-MS mass analysis.
  • Synthesis of novel functional biomaterials such as modified biocompatible chitin.
  • Synthesis of new complex compounds of thermolabile group precursors with d-electron metals.
  • Understanding the chemical nature of the studied compounds, determining the mechanism of the processes taking place and obtaining new useful materials for use in the broadly understood field of life sciences.
