Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center joined the IBM Quantum Network

Pursuant to the agreement signed on February 4th at Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, affiliated to the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, PAS, the first quantum computing network in Central Eastern Europe, the so called quantum hub, will be created in Poznan. Due to the fact that PSNC joined the IBM Quantum Network, scientists from Poland will have access to extremely efficient quantum computers in the United States. These resources shall also be used for complex computation and simulation. It will also be possible to use them for the sake of cyber security and  artificial intelligence, which plays a more and more important role not only in scientific research, but also medicine, industry or economics.

The initiative is funded under the purposeful grant of the Prime Minister, from the funds at the disposal of the Minister of Digital Affairs. Its total cost shall amount to ca. 5 million PLN.
