On September 4, 2024, the 138th plenary meeting of the Scientific Council of IBCH PAS took place.
The Chair of the Council, Prof. Andrzej Legocki, on behalf of the entire Scientific Council, warmly congratulated the IBCH PAS staff on the opening of the Centre for Innovation and Social Education. Prof. Legocki also announced that the President of the Republic of Poland had awarded Prof. Zofia Gdaniec the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the development of chemical sciences, her achievements in scientific research, and her promotion of Polish scientific ideas worldwide.
Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs, Magdalena Łuczak, Ph.D., DSc, Assoc. Prof., presented proposals for new designs of doctoral and habilitation diplomas.
The Scientific Council conferred doctoral degrees with distinction on Julia Latowska-Łysiak, MSc, and Paweł Pawelczak, MSc. Additionally, the supervisor of the doctoral thesis of Paulina Bierwagen, MSc Eng., was changed, and reviewers were appointed for the doctoral procedures of Dagna Lorent, MSc, Francesca Canyelles I Font, MSc, and Anna Wychowaniec, MSc. A supervisor was also appointed for the doctoral procedure of Bożena Bołaz, MSc, and an auxiliary supervisor for Klaudia Wójcik, MSc, a PhD student at the Doctoral School.
The IBCH Scientific Council also discussed a draft amendment to the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences.
