The 140th plenary meeting of the IBCH PAS Scientific Council was held on 12 March 2025.

The Director of the Institute, Luiza Handschuh, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof., presented a report on the Institute’s activities for the year 2024.

In the open part of the meeting, Witold Andrałojć, PhD, and Paweł Świtoński, PhD, presented their scientific achievements, which serve as the basis for initiating their habilitation proceedings at IBCH PAS.

The Council issued a positive recommendation for the promotion of Dr Anna Wojakowska to the position of Professor at IBCH PAS.

Candidates for the award of Division II of Biological and Agricultural Sciences PAS for outstanding research discoveries published in prestigious journals, as well as for the Prime Minister’s Award for an outstanding doctoral dissertation, were also discussed.

The Council conferred the postdoctoral degree (habilitation, DSc) upon Dr. Anna Piasecka, and awarded doctoral degrees to Francesca Canyelles I Font, MSc, and Anna Wychowaniec, MSc. Additionally, reviewers were appointed for the doctoral proceedings of Piotr Pietras, MSc (mode I) and Annasha Dutta, MSc (mode II), while supervisors were appointed for the doctoral proceedings of Michał Zeńczak, MSc, Mateusz Nowaczyk, MSc, and Michał Stelmaszczuk, MSc. Supervisors were also assigned for doctoral school students Tugce Kocamanoglu, MSc, and Salma Ilhami, MSc.

Finally, amendments to the Procedure for the Award of the Doctoral Degree, the Rules of the Scientific Council, the Rules of the Doctoral Proceedings Committee, and the Rules and Programme of Education of the Poznań Doctoral School were discussed.
