30th Anniversary of the Partnership-based Doctoral Programof the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS

On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, the ceremony commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Partnership-based Doctoral Program of the IBCH PAS took place. Among the invited guests were directors of PAS institutes, professors, lecturers, supervisors, graduates, and current doctoral students of the Doctoral Program. Representatives of the Poznań Doctoral School of the Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as employees of the IBCH PAS, were also present.

The guests were welcomed by Mariola Dutkiewicz, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof., Acting Head of the Doctoral Program of the IBCH PAS. In a brief presentation, she outlined the history of the Program and its achievements. Subsequently, Luiza Handschuh, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof., the Director of the Institute and a graduate of the Doctoral Program, delivered an illustrated lecture titled “Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS yesterday and today”. The long-time Head of the Doctoral Program, Prof. Adam Kraszewski, shared personal memories associated with his time in this role. Deep emotions were evoked by the expressions of special thanks extended not only to Prof. Kraszewski but also to the Secretary of the Doctoral Program, Małgorzata Dąbkiewicz, whose dedication and kindness were a true support to the doctoral students.

During the artistic part of the event, doctoral students Angelika Andrzejewska-Romanowska, Grażyna Adamek, Marta Sztachera, and Marianna Śmiełowska presented their poetic essays from the collection “My RNA World”.

The celebration concluded with a birthday cake and a symbolic refreshment in the main hall, providing an opportunity for informal conversations, exchange of memories, and current updates.
