We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ireneusz Stolarek, working at the Department of Molecular and Systems Biology, has been selected as a finalist in the 24th edition of the Polityka Science Awards in the life sciences category.

The Polityka Science Awards is a scholarship program aimed at young scientists, designed to promote the careers and scientific achievements of early-career researchers in Poland. It has been organized by the Polityka Weekly Foundation since 2001.

This year’s edition attracted as many as 500 participants, from which 15 finalists were chosen in recognition of their outstanding scientific accomplishments. In the next stage, the jury will select five laureates who will receive the main awards.

Dr. Ireneusz Stolarek is a specialist in population genomics. His award-winning series of publications on the biological history of human populations in Central and Eastern Europe has made a significant contribution to the development of archaeogenomics.
