Conference “Nucleic Acids in Resonance”

We invite you to participate in the scientific conference “Nucleic Acids in Resonance” (NAIR 2026), which will take place on May 20, 2026, at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry in Poznań (IBCH PAS Conference Center, 17/19 H. Wieniawskiego St., Poznań).

This event is dedicated to honoring the outstanding scientific achievements of Professor Zofia Gdaniec, Ph.D., her contribution to the development of NMR techniques at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and expressing deep appreciation for her many years of scientific, teaching, and organizational work.

The conference’s scientific program includes two lecture sessions. During the first session, through the lens of Professor Gdaniec’s professional career, we will examine the multifaceted role of NMR methods in the structural studies of nucleic acids and other biological systems. Speakers will include leading, long-standing colleagues of Professor Gdaniec from the Institute and other national institutions.

The second lecture session will focus on the topic of structural studies of G-quadruplex molecules. This session will open with a lecture by our invited international guest, Prof. Janez Plavec (Slovenian NMR Centre, National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana, Slovenia).

The scientific sessions will be interspersed with a segment dedicated to reminiscences and well-wishes, during which more personal memories and anecdotes from the Professor’s colleagues at the ICHB and other institutions will be shared, along with an opportunity to offer congratulations.
