Visit of Dr. Klára Hoyerová to IBCH PAS

The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Klára Hoyerová from the Institute of Experimental Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. Dr. Hoyerová, who collaborates with the Department of Plant Molecular Physiology led by Prof. Michał Jasiński, delivered a compelling lecture on cytokinins and their unique role in seeds.

Cytokinins are a group of structurally related adenine-derived molecules. They act as phytohormones regulating various aspects of plant growth and development. In addition, they are involved in stress responses and serve as mobile signals informing the plant, for example, about nutrient availability.

The lecture drew considerable interest. After the presentation, numerous individual conversations and discussions took place with researchers from various departments of the Institute.

The visit was made possible thanks to a PAS program supporting international collaboration carried out in scientific units under the authority of PAS divisions.
