NCN Grants for Scientists from IBCH PAS

We are pleased to announce that in the OPUS 27 call for proposals by the National Science Centre (NCN), five projects submitted by scientists from IBCH PAS have been awarded funding.

The following projects received funding:

  • Barbara Uszczyńska-Ratajczak, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof. – “Jump in with a splash: Exploring the principles of long noncoding RNA import into mitochondria and its biological relevance”
  • Anna Wojakowska, PhD, DSc – “Proteomic predictors of metastasis in colorectal cancer – a validation study”. This project will be carried out in a consortium led by IBCH PAS, with NIO PIB as a partner.
  • Leszek Błaszczyk, PhD – “Comprehensive structural and functional analysis of p53 mRNA to identify secondary and tertiary RNA structures important in physiology, carcinogenesis, and development of therapies against human diseases”
  • Marta Grzechowiak, PhD – “Molecular basis of the function of WRKY transcription factors as pivotal regulators of plant responses to stress”
  • Agnieszka Żmieńko, PhD, DSC, Assoc. Prof. – “Evaluation of the role of genes BARS1 and BARS2, which encodes novel oxidosqualene synthase, in the natural diversity of Arabidopsis growth and adaptation to environmental conditions”
