On June 5th, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS held its Open Day! The event was a great opportunity for pupils, students, and young researchers to explore the scientific and professional development opportunities offered by the Institute.
During the event, guests had the chance to learn what a scientific career path looks like, as well as day-to-day work in the various departments and laboratories of IBCH PAS.
The Open Day began with a short lecture by Magdalena Łuczak, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof. and Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs, who spoke about key projects currently underway at the Institute and the available internship opportunities. This was followed by a presentation by Mariola Dutkiewicz, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof., who introduced the educational offer of the Poznań Doctoral School of PAS Institutes.
Participants also had the opportunity to explore alternative career paths within scientific institutions and to learn about the activities of the IBCH PAS Doctoral Student Council.
Researchers at the Institute prepared many additional attractions for visitors: intriguing “elixirs,” demonstrations involving model organisms, microscopic observations.
