In the latest Stanford / Elsevier – World’s Top 2% Scientists 2025 ranking, which identifies researchers with the highest citation impact, Prof. Paweł Bednarek from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS has once again been included.
Prof. Bednarek heads the Department of Functional Plant Metabolomics. His research focuses on plant secondary metabolites, their role in plant–microbe interactions, and the regulation of plant immune systems. He has also been recognized among the most frequently cited Polish scientists in previous editions of the Top 2% list.
The ranking of the world’s most cited researchers, taking into account entire scientific careers, also includes Prof. Mariusz Jaskólski, Prof. Ryszard Kierzek, and Prof. Maciej Stobiecki.
Being listed in the Top 2% is a prestigious international distinction that enhances the global visibility of both our scientists and our institution. The ranking is based on the c-score indicator, which takes into account factors such as the number of citations, co-authorship, author position in publications, as well as adjustments for self-citations.
Congratulations!
