On June 12, 2024, the 137th plenary meeting of the Scientific Council of IBCH PAS took place.

First, on behalf of himself and the entire Scientific Council, the Chair of the Council, Prof. Andrzej Legocki, warmly congratulated Ms. Marta Olejniczak and Mr. Maciej Figiel on obtaining the title of Professor.

Following this, the Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs, Magdalena Łuczak, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof., delivered a summary of the Reporting Session on the Institute’s activities for the year 2023, held on May 23, 2023. In the subsequent part of the meeting, the Deputy Director for Finance, Adam Kubasiński, introduced the Institute’s financial plan for 2024. The meeting was accompanied by a presentation of the best IBCH experimental publication of 2023, awarded with the Institute Director’s Prize, which was presented by Dr. Ireneusz Stolarek

During the Council meeting, Prof. Adam Szewczyk, President of the Polish Biochemical Society, conferred the Diploma of Honorary Membership in the Polish Biochemical Society upon Prof. Andrzej Legocki, for his contribution to the development of biochemistry and outstanding contributions to the Society.

Additionally, reviewers were appointed for the doctoral procedure of Adriana Grabowska, MSc, and supervisors were appointed for the doctoral procedures of Anna Wasilewska-Burczyk, MSc, Anna Wychowaniec, MSc, Francesca Canyelles I Font, MSc, and Masroor Khan, MSc. Supervisors were also appointed for doctoral school students Emilia Mroczko, MSc, and Marcin Drzewiecki, MSc.
