The Minister of Education and Science made decision on the categorization of national scientific units. In accordance with the current rules, scientific categories (A+, A, B+, B or C) were assigned separately in each discipline practiced in the evaluated units. The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences underwent categorization in three disciplines.  In the discipline of biological sciences, in which the vast majority of ICHB PAS scientists are active, the Institute received the A+ category. In the other two disciplines practiced in our Unit, i.e.: chemical sciences and information and communication technology, we obtained the 𝐀 category.

The scientific achievements from 2017-2021 were evaluated, and the quality of publications and ongoing research projects were especially taken into account. Of great importance was also the impact of the research conducted on the economy and society.

The results of the categorization are a great success for all employees of ICHB PAN, as well as a motivation and commitment to further activities.
