It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the death of Prof. dr hab. Wiesław Z. Antkowiak, chemist, great scientist and teacher, friend of the Institute and a distinguished member of our Scientific Board. Professor was a member of the IBCH PAS Council for over 30 years (1984-2014), and in the Scientific Board of three terms (1999-2010) he was the Deputy Chairman. As an unquestionable authority in the field of organic chemistry, for many years he collaborated with prof. Maciej Wiewiórowski, the founder of IBCH PAN. He also examined successive generations of doctoral students of the Institute.

Professor Antkowiak died on April 26, 2023. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased.
