On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, the 134th plenary meeting of the Scientific Board of the IBCH PAS took place. It commenced with the ceremonial presentation of a habilitation diploma to Dr. Jacek Kolanowski, Head of the Department of Molecular Probes and Prodrugs, who obtained the degree of habilitated doctor in the field of natural sciences in the discipline of chemical sciences.
Subsequently, the Scientific Board conferred the doctoral degree upon MScs. Agnieszka Szczepańska, Paulina Nawrocka-Muszyńska, Carolina Sofia Pereira Roxo, and Paweł Joachimiak. Additionally, reviewers were appointed for the doctoral proceedings of MScs. Jakub Kuczyński, Marcin Ryczek, and Marek Kazimierczyk. Furthermore, supervisors were designated for the doctoral process of MScs. Agata Ciołak, Żaneta Kalinowska-Pośko, and Paweł Pawelczak, as well as supervisors for students of the doctoral school – MScs. Mikołaj Małecki, Kinga Maziec, and Maciej Michalczyk.
In the open session of the meeting, Dr. Katarzyna Kolanowska and Dr. Łukasz Marczak presented their scientific achievements, which serve as the basis for commencing the habilitation procedure at IBCH PAS. The title of Dr. Katarzyna Klonowska’s presentation was “Germinal and somatic loss-of-function mutations in TSC1 and TSC2 genes: their role in carcinogenesis and association with the human phenotype”, while the title of Dr. Łukasz Marczak’s presentation was “Structural characterization of plant polyhydroxyphenolic natural products using mass spectrometry methods”.
