IBCH PAS at the iNext-Discovery Foresight Meeting

On 8-10 July, the iNext-Discovery Foresight Meeting took place in Cracow, bringing together leading scientists and experts in the field of structural biology. The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the was involved in organising the event, with Dr. Miłosz Ruszkowski, Prof. IBCH PAS and Dr. Maria Małecka. The aim of the meeting was to discuss and analyse current trends and challenges faced by structural biology, and to explore the role of artificial intelligence technology (AI) in this field.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments and innovations that could revolutionise the way research is conducted. An important part of the meeting was also a discussion on the impact of AI on structural biology and the identification of actions to be taken in the coming years to effectively exploit the potential of new technologies. The programme included presentations and panel discussions, which allowed participants to exchange experiences and views. Among the eminent scientists and practitioners, a presentation entitled Progress and Perspectives in RNA Structure Research was also given by a scientist from IBCH PAS – Dr. Agnieszka Kiliszek, Prof. IBCH PAS.

Entities participating in the organisation of the event included Instruct-ERIC, SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre, Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences, International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology, Structural Biology Core Facility and Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Thanks to the involvement of these institutions, the meeting had the chance to become an important developmental step in the field of structural biology.
