We are pleased to announce that in the SONATINA 8 call for proposals by the National Science Centre, funding was granted to the project: ‘Unravelling the conservation of crossover hotspots and regulation of meiotic recombination at the pericentromeres’, which will be led by Dr. Maja Szymańska-Lejman.
Research conducted by Dr. Maja Szymańska-Lejman will provide information on the mechanism of crossing-over and maintenance of recombination hotspots between different Arabidopsis thalina hybrids. In addition, Dr. Szymańska-Lejman will investigate the effect of chromatin packing status on meiotic recombination in recombination hotspots in the bicentromeric regions. The results of the research will be relevant for the development of innovative strategies in smart crop breeding practices.
Congratulations and best wishes for further success!
