On September 4, 2024, during the 138th plenary session of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS, an important discussion was held on the proposed amendment to the Polish Academy of Sciences Act, introduced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The debate involved not only scientists from the IBCH PAS but also members of the Scientific Council representing other scientific institutions in Poland.

The Council unanimously and openly adopted a position on this matter, stating that “While we recognize the need for changes in the scientific system in Poland, we simultaneously reject the draft amendment to the PAS Act published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education on July 15, 2024″.
