We are pleased to announce that on April 14, 2025, the Scientific Council of IBCH PAS awarded Dr. Monika Piwecka the postdoctoral degree of habilitated doctor (DSc) in the field of natural sciences, within the discipline of biological sciences. Dr. Piwecka applied for the habilitation degree based on her scientific achievement entitled “Regulation of gene expression at RNA level in the brain and pathologies of the central nervous system”.

The Scientific Council endorsed the recommendation of the Habilitation Committee to distinguish Dr. Piwecka’s research achievement in recognition of its exceptional quality and scientific merit.

Dr. Monika Piwecka leads the Department of Non-Coding RNAs. Her research focuses on uncovering the roles of non-coding RNAs in mammalian neurons, glial cells, and the neuroendocrine system.
