Scientific publications from IBCH PAS researchers honored with the Crystallographic Diamonds award by the Crystallography Committee PAS

We are pleased to announce that the Crystallography Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences has awarded the Crystallographic Diamonds distinction for scientific publications published in 2024. The Crystallographic Diamonds award is a prestigious distinction granted annually for the best scientific publications in the field of crystallography authored by Polish researchers. This recognition highlights the scientific achievements and promotes Polish crystallography both nationally and internationally.

Two articles authored by researchers from IBCH PAS have been honored with this prestigious distinction:

  • Solvent organization in ultrahigh-resolution crystal structure of crambin at room temperature

Julian C.-H. Chen, Miroslaw Gilski, Changsoo Chang, Dominika Borek, Gerd Rosenbaum, Alex Lavens, Zbyszek Otwinowski, Maciej Kubicki, Zbigniew Dauter, Mariusz Jaskolski*, Andrzej Joachimiak*

IUCrJ, 11 (2024), 649–663

  • Antisense RNA C9orf72 hexanucleotide repeat associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia forms a triplex-like structure and binds small synthetic ligand

Leszek Błaszczyk, Marcin Ryczek, Bimolendu Das, Martyna Mateja-Pluta, Magdalena Bejger, Joanna Śliwiak, Kazuhiko Nakatani, Agnieszka Kiliszek*

Nucleic Acids Research, 2024, 52, 6707–6717

Information about the awarded works has been published on the website of the Crystallography Committee PAS and was officially presented at the 66th Crystallographic Colloquium — the annual conference of crystallographers working in Poland — which held in Wrocław from June 25 to 27, 2025.

Our sincere congratulations!
