The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Turew Palace invite you to a series of lectures ‘Science on the Trail’. This is an ideal opportunity to gain new knowledge and visit the charming town of Kościan!

The first lecture in the series ‘Wielkopolska as the Cradle of Polish Statehood’ entitled ‘How did the Piast State come into being?’ will be held in the Municipal Public Library in Kościan on 30 July 2025 at 5 p.m. The lecture will be hosted by two prominent figures from the world of science: Prof. Hanna Kóćka-Krenz (Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań) and Prof. Marek Figlerowicz (Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences).

This is not only a meeting with history – it is also a look at the beginnings of statehood from the perspective of biology, archaeology and modern scientific methods. It is a subject full of mysteries worth exploring!
