In this year’s edition of the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR), the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) placed in the 31st percentile, achieving the following results in specific categories:
Among the 113 Polish scientific institutions included in the ranking, the Institute ranked 21st overall (42nd in 2024, tied with the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy PAS). Within PAS institutes, it took 4th place (3rd, if PAS as a whole is excluded), also tied with the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy PAS.

Eighty scholars affiliated with the Polish Academy of Sciences have been included in the prestigious international Research.com ranking.
The awards are given across 20 fields of science. Among the distinguished researchers is Prof. Ryszard Kierzek from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS, who ranked 30th nationwide in chemistry (and 9109th globally) – congratulations!
The listing is based on the D-index (discipline-specific H-index), which reflects publication output in a given field as well as citation impact. Data were sourced from the OpenAlex and CrossRef databases.
The ranking is updated annually and also includes late scholars who were long associated with the Academy and remain an enduring part of its scientific heritage. Their works continue to be widely cited and form the foundation for future generations of researchers. From our Institute, a special place belongs to the late Prof. Włodzimierz Krzyżosiak, who ranked 4th in Poland in genetics (3080th globally).
