IBCH PAS projects funded by NCN under OPUS 28 LAP!

We are pleased to announce that out of 25 research projects that received funding from the National Science Centre Poland under the OPUS 28 LAP competition, 2 will be carried out at IBCH PAS.

One of the projects selected for funding is entitled ‘From third ventricle to pituitary gland: regulatory RNA networks in posttranscriptional modulation of gene expression in neurosecretion’ and will be carried out by an international group of researchers led by Dr. Monika Piwecka from the Non-coding RNA Department at IBCH PAS. Monika Piwecka from the Department of Non-coding RNAs at IBCH PAS. Dr Piwecka’s team will collaborate with Dr Andarnik Ivanov from Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Berlin Institute of Health (Germany) and Dr Fanny Langlet’s team from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland).

Funding was also awarded to a project by Dr Agnieszka Kiliszek, Assoc Prof., head of the Department of RNA Structural Research. As part of the project ‘A comprehensive structural and functional analysis of toxic RNA-protein interactions for better understanding and therapeutic targeting of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia,’ the team from IBCH PAS will collaborate with Prof. Boris Rogelj from the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana (Slovenia).

Congratulations and best wishes for further success!
