Join us for the exhibition “Beyond Genes… Genetic Code vs. Cultural Code”

Journeys have been a part of human life since the dawn of time – and it is precisely this theme that forms the core of this unique exhibition. “Beyond Genes… Genetic Code vs. Cultural Code” is a story of a journey through time, from the origins of life on Earth to the present day.

The exhibition invites us to reflect on who we are and what shapes our identity. Are we defined by the genes encoded in our biology, or perhaps by culture, language and experience? The exhibition guides us through the successive stages of human history — from the common roots of all organisms, through human evolution and great migrations, to the formation of communities and cultural identity.

The project was created as a graphic interpretation of scientific issues, prepared by students of the Information Design Studio, Department of Graphic Design, Magdalena Abakanowicz University of  the Arts Poznan, in collaboration with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and City of Poznań.

It is not just an exhibition — it is a journey that allows us to view humanity from a new perspective.

The exhibition will be on display at Plac Wolności in Poznań from 8 May to 3 July.
