We are pleased to announce that researchers from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS have been awarded grants under the funding programmes of the National Science Centre (NCN).

Among the winners of the OPUS 30 call are:

• Prof. Paweł Bednarek, Head of the Department of Plant Functional Metabolomics, with the project: “Specialized tryptophan metabolism in the control of potentially pathogenic bacteria in the plant microbiome” (discipline panel: NZ2).

• Katarzyna Pachulska-Wieczorek, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof., Head of the Department of RNA Structure and Function, with the project: “In vivo exploring the relationship between mRNA structure and posttranscriptional modification at a transcriptome-wide level to gain new insights into the regulation of mRNA functions, fate, and interactions with other macromolecules” (discipline panel: NZ2).

• Paulina Gałka-Marciniak, PhD, from the Department of Molecular Genetics, with the project: “How deleterious are miRNA gene variants? A global analysis of their functional consequences” (discipline panel: NZ2).

The winner of the SONATA 21 call is Natalia Szóstak, PhD, DSc, from the Laboratory of Bioinformatics, with the project: “Prediction of response to immunotherapy in melanoma using metabolic signatures of the gut mycobiome” (discipline panel: NZ2).
