As many as 10 strategic research infrastructures, led by the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBCH PAS) and its affiliated Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS), have been included in the Polish Research Infrastructure Roadmap.

The Institute leads two strategic research infrastructures:

• ECBiG – European Centre for Bioinformatics and Genomics
• POL-INSTRUCT – Interdisciplinary Platform for Structural Development of Biologically Active Molecules

PCSS leads eight strategic research infrastructures:

• EBRAINS-PL – Open digital infrastructure for research related to the brain
• National Infrastructure for Quantum Computing and Simulation – EuroQCS PL
• National Platform for the Integration of Research Infrastructures with Innovation Ecosystems PIONIER-LAB2
• National Data Repository – a universal infrastructure for storing and sharing data and for efficient processing of large data volumes using HPC, Big Data and artificial intelligence models
• PRACE – Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe
• SLICES-PL – Scientific Large Scale Infrastructure for Computing / Communication Experimental Studies – implementation of the Polish Node
• Digital Research Infrastructure for Distributed and Renewable Energy – CIBERIO
• ASASYN – Advanced Security and AI Synergy Laboratory

In addition, the Institute and PCSS participate in the implementation of other strategic research infrastructures included in the Roadmap as members of consortia, including ELIXIR.PL – the European Life Sciences Infrastructure for Biological Information and POL-OPENSCREEN – the Polish Screening Infrastructure Platform for Chemical Biology.

The inclusion of these infrastructures in the Polish Research Infrastructure Roadmap highlights the importance of the research potential developed at ICHB PAS and PCSS and their role in building modern research infrastructure in Poland and Europe.
