On 16 September 2026, the 146th plenary meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS was held.

The Chair of the Scientific Council, Prof. Marek Figlerowicz, ceremonially presented habilitation diplomas to Joanna Banasiak, PhD, DSc and Natalia Szóstak, PhD, DSc. Both researchers then gave short scientific presentations on their current research.

In the further part of the meeting, the Scientific Council gave positive opinions on the proposals to employ Joanna Banasiak, PhD, DSc and Natalia Szóstak, PhD, DSc in the positions of Institute Professors.

The results of the evaluation of scientific units were also discussed. Moreover, the Council addressed matters concerning doctoral students of the Doctoral School, appointing supervisors and co-supervisors for Jakub Godźek, MSc, Joanna Grempka, MSc, Katarzyna Łowczynowska, MSc, Shankamitty Dotty, MSc, Marianna Szewczyk, MSc, and Ujjwal, MSc.

Participants were also informed about current matters presented by the Institute’s Directorate and took part in the open discussion and submission of motions.
