We are extremely pleased to announce that the project entitled โ€œMagic bullets โ€“ new nucleotide ADAR1 inhibitors as a tool to overcome immunosuppression in glioblastomaโ€ has been awarded funding under the โ€œScience for the Development of Societyโ€ program! The Principal Investigator of the project is dr Justyna Goล‚ฤ™biewska-Pikuล‚a from IBCH PAS.

The main goal of the planned research is to develop an innovative class of nucleotide ADAR1 inhibitors using H-phosphonate chemistry. These compounds are intended to serve as a new therapeutic tool to overcome immunosuppression in glioblastoma and activate the immune response against cancer cells.

The project combines advanced basic research with translational and social potential. It received high scores from the expert panel, among other things thanks to interdisciplinary cooperation with key partners:

– Ryvu Therapeutics โ€“ an industrial partner supporting the evaluation of the translational and R&D potential of the developed molecules,

– Glioma-Center Foundation (Hania Magiera Memorial Foundation) โ€“ a partner responsible for disseminating research results, patient education, and building public awareness about modern immunotherapies.
