The Polish Young Academy of the Polish Academy of Sciences (AMU PAN) organised the ninth edition of Kuźnia Młodych Talentów (KMT; Young Talents Workshop), one of its leading initiatives aimed at the younger generation of scientists.

KMT AMU is an interdisciplinary summer school that brings together talented PhD students from all fields of science and provides them with an opportunity to participate in workshops led by outstanding Polish scientists. As every year, KMT AMU supported the development of scientific skills and interpersonal competencies that are essential for building a successful career in academia.

This year’s ninth edition was held in the beautiful interiors of the Jabłonna Palace, the House of Meetings and Conferences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, under the patronage of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences (IBCH PAS).

Katarzyna Klonowska, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof., Head of the Department of Cancer Genetics, IBCH PAS, and a member of AMU PAN, served as Chair of the KMT Programme Council and was also a member of the committee evaluating the PhD students’ scientific presentations.

Izabela Broniarek, PhD, Eng., from the Department of Cancer Genetics, IBCH PAS, led a workshop entitled “How to Speak So That People Listen to Us”.

Marcin Drzewiecki, MSc, Eng., from the Department of Cancer Genetics, IBCH PAS, had the opportunity to present results obtained as part of his doctoral research.

The participants can look back on an exceptionally intensive and inspiring time, filled with positive energy and motivation for further development and new research challenges!
