Professor Marek Figlerowicz as the Honorary Patron of the 2nd French-Polish Chemistry Congress

The 2nd French-Polish Chemistry Congress took place from August 28th to 31st at the National Higher School of Chemistry in Montpellier. The event was organized jointly by the Faculty of Chemistry at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Faculty of Chemistry at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, the Faculty of Chemical Technology at Poznań University of Technology, and the National School of Chemistry in Montpellier.

Among the speakers were renowned scientists from both Poland and France, including Prof. Artur Ciesielski (Adam Mickiewicz University and the University of Strasbourg), Prof. Karol Grela (University of Warsaw, Institute of Organic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences), Prof. Teofil Jesionowski (Poznan University of Technology), Prof. Guillaume Maurin (University of Montpellier), Prof. Miłosz Pawlicki (Jagiellonian University), and Prof. Sebastien Ulrich (French National Centre for Scientific Research). The closing speech was delivered by Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, the Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University.

The primary objective of the congress was to promote Polish scientific contributions in France, disseminate the achievements of both Polish and French research groups, and explore opportunities for further collaboration. The event saw participation from over 120 scientists, representing both Poland and France. The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences was represented by Dr. Agnieszka Belter, a member of the organizing committee.

The congress received honorary patronage from various dignitaries, including the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Paris, the Ambassador of France in Poland, the Director of the French Institute in Poland, the Director of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the President of the Polish Chemical Society, the Director of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences, the Director of the Scientific Station of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Paris, the Chairman of the Commission of Chemical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Rectors of several Polish universities, including the University of Bialystok, the Technical University of Lodz, the Silesian Technical University, the University of Wroclaw, the University of Gdansk, and the University of Lodz.
