Visit of dr. Gaia di Timoteo and RNA Salon Poznan ceremony

On January 18-19, our Institute hosted dr. Gaia di Timoteo from the Sapienza University of Rome. The visit was held as part of a series of open invited seminars of IBCH PAS and a well-recognized in the Poznan scientific community RNA Salon Poznan, which hosts guests from outside our institute. Dr. di Timoteo held a lecture entitled ‘Role of m6A: From circRNA Metabolism in Cancer to Pathological Aggregation in ALS’, presenting a role of adenine methylation in RNA metabolism and, in a broader context, in carcinogenesis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The visit encompassed also meetings with the scientists, PhD students and post-docs from IBCH PAS and the Faculty of Biology AMU. Before the lecture, diplomas were awarded to the laureates of the RNA Salon Poznan competition for the best BSc and MSc dissertations and publications. Among the laureates were Natalia Stępczak (BSc thesis), Weronika Pawlik (MSc thesis), Bartosz Adamczyk (student publication) and Michał Żurkowski (PhD candidate publication). We invite you to participate in the upcoming IBCH PAS invited seminars and RNA Salon Poznan events which can be followed in the Events tab.
