On March 20, 2024, the 136th plenary meeting of the Scientific Council of the IBCH PAS took place.

During the meeting, Prof. Natalia Sobczak, Vice-President of the PAS, presented state distinctions to employees of the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center affiliated with the IBCH PAS. The Gold Cross of Merit was awarded to Artur Binczewski, MSc, Eng, while the Silver Cross of Merit was awarded to Robert Pękal, MSc, Eng. The Silver Medal for Long-Time Service was awarded to Maciej Brzeźniak, MSc, Eng, and Krzysztof Turza, PhD, Eng.

Prof. Andrzej Legocki awarded a doctoral diploma to Ewelina Jesion, PhD.

The Director of the Institute, Prof. Luiza Handschuh, presented a report on the Institute’s activities for the year 2023.

Subsequently, the Council conferred doctoral degrees upon Marek Kazimierczyk, MSc, Eng (with distinction), Żaneta Zarębska, MSc, Ilkin Aygun-Soyalp, MSc, and Karolina Świtońska-Kurkowska, MSc, Eng (with distinction).

Reviewers were appointed for the doctoral procedure of Julia Latowska-Łysiak, MSc, Eng, and Paweł Pawelczak, MSc. Additionally, supervisors were designated for the doctoral proceedings of Dagny Lorent, MSc, Karolina Hoffa-Sobiech, MSc, Eng, and doctoral students of the doctoral school: Havisha Dinesh, MSc, Nivedita Dutta, MSc, and Seda Nur Hortooglu, MSc.

The Council approved changes to the regulations of the IBCH PAS Scientific Council. Discussions also took place regarding changes to the regulations of the Poznań Doctoral School and amendments to the procedures for granting doctoral degrees.
