The research will be possible thanks to an agreement signed recently by the City of Poznań, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS and the companies Aquanet Laboratorium and Aquanet SA. This will allow not only to estimate the scale of infections in Poznań, but we will also give an opportunity to examine more closely variants and mutations of the coronavirus.
Both the companies of the Aquanet Group and the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS already have extensive and necessary experience in collecting samples and testing them for virus RNA content. Such research has been conducted since last year. In addition, our scientists, as part of their recent collaboration, will complement their research with sequencing of the SARS-CoV-2 genome in order to identify virus variants.
