Join us for a unique workshop entitled “DNA The Molecule of Life”, organised as part of the „Funduszowy Maj” campaign!
This is an opportunity to discover the basics of genetics in a simple and practical way, get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of science, and become part of the nationwide G4PL project – Genomics for Poland.
G4PL is the largest genomic project in Poland, aimed at developing modern genetic research and creating a secure infrastructure for the analysis and storage of genetic data. Scientists are collecting and analysing DNA samples from Polish residents to gain a better understanding of the genetic diversity of our population. The research findings are intended to support the development of precision medicine, modern diagnostics and more effective preventive healthcare.
What, where and when?
• 23 May – Turew Palace
During the event ‘The General’s Picnic – the Greater Poland work ethic’, there will be a science station for children and young people. Participants will be able to carry out experiments themselves, see scientific equipment and view our world on a microscopic scale!
On this day, there will also be an opportunity to submit a DNA sample to the G4PL project between 12:00 and 15:00.
• 29 May – Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences
A day full of scientific discoveries for children and young people! School groups will take part in special laboratory workshops, where they will be able to carry out simple experiments themselves, learn the basics of a scientist’s work and see what a real laboratory looks like from the inside. Please note that all places have already been booked.
• 30 May – Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences
A continuation of the workshops and another encounter with the world of science. A science stand with microscopes and demonstrations will once again be available at the Centre for Innovation and Social Education (Poznań, ul. H. Wieniawskiego 21/23).
On this day, you will also be able to submit a DNA sample to the G4PL project between 10:00 and 14:00 (Poznań, ul. H. Wieniawskiego 17/19).
