On October 23, the Polish Academy of Sciences held a ceremony to appoint its newly elected members. The nominations were presented by Prof. Marek Konarzewski, President of PAS.

Among the distinguished scientists honored was Prof. Marta Szachniuk, who became a Corresponding Member of Division IV – Engineering Sciences, PAS.

At the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS, Professor Szachniuk heads the Department of Structural Bioinformatics.
